MODALITIES AND CONDITIONS OF THE RADO STAR PRIZE FRANCE 2018

Description

Organised jointly by Montres Rado SA (RADO) and Paris Design Week and, under their responsibility, the RADO STAR PRIZE France supports the realisation of a new and innovative project.

The competition offers two prizes:

Jury Prize

  • €5000 of prize money
  • a Rado True Thinline watch

Public Prize

  • a Rado True Thinline watch

Deadline for application submissions: midnight on 8th June 2018, the postmark or the date of the email serves as proof.

A jury comprised of design professionals is responsible for choosing the winner of the RADO STAR PRIZE France.

The selection criteria are: use of innovative materials, originality and personality. Any design containing a design relating to a watch or any other watchmaking instrument will not be accepted or taken into consideration.

Conditions of participation

The submitted project must neither have been published nor marketed.

The competition is open to designers who speak or understand French.

The minimum age for participation is 18 years. Maximum of one entry per participant.

There is no geographic limit.

Participation in this competition requires no purchase and no other form of payment by the participant. Employees of The Swatch Group SA and its subsidiaries as well as of Paris Design Week, their immediate family, advertising agencies and event organisers, their employees and immediate family members are not eligible to participate in this competition.

Applications must be received no later than 8th June 2018, the postmark serves as proof for applications sent by post.

Images submitted at the time of entry may be used by Paris Design Week and RADO to communicate and promote the competition.

A participant may be disqualified if he/she does not meet one of the specified requirements.

The declaration of false names or addresses also leads to disqualification.

Preparation of the file

  • A note of intent
  • Representative visuals of your project, to be captioned (name, designer, technical characteristics, presentation text)
  • A book of your achievements (history, steps, biography)
  • Press kit (optional)

Jury and awarding of the Prize

Jury Prize

The Jury will decide the winner of the Jury Prize.

 

In the event of high numbers of entries, files may be pre-selected by a pre-jury of professionals in order to guarantee the quality of the jury's deliberations. However, all files are accessible to the jury. The jury's decisions are final and the participant undertakes not to submit any appeal. No information will be given on the jury's deliberations.

The winner undertakes to deliver his work to be exhibited at the RADO stand during Paris Design Week 2018 (from 6th to 15th September 2018), as well as in other possible venues communicated in due time. The organisers undertake to return the work to its owner after the exhibitions. An agreement, specifying the reciprocal commitments, will be signed between the winner, RADO and Paris Design Week after the award ceremony. Rado may also, if need be, propose other collaboration agreements to the winner that allow for other uses of his project.

Public Prize

The participant who receives the most votes on the site http://radostarprize.rado.com/france on Tuesday 4th September 2018 at 00:00 will be the winner of the Prix du Public.

The entrant's personal data collected in the context of this competition will only be used for the purpose for which it was collected and will not be transferred to third parties.

The Prix du Jury and Prix du Public will be announced on Thursday 6th September.

The winner will be notified personally and his work will also be published in the press and on the Off and RADO websites.

Permissions and rights

By submitting the images of their projects, participants confirm that they are the author of the designs and that they have obtained the agreement of any third parties who may be recognisable therein with a view to participation in this competition and in accordance with the conditions of participation. The participants further confirm that the images do not represent any illegal, harmful, threatening, offensive, offensive, libellous or vulgar content and that they do not infringe any trademark, copyright, design or other rights of third parties. RADO and Paris Design Week and their employees cannot be held liable for any loss, claim, compensation, damage or costs resulting from participants' failure to comply with these guidelines.

Participants are aware that third parties may have access to images and texts uploaded and may use them illegally. RADO and Paris Design Week have no control over illegal downloads or any unauthorised use by third parties. Participants waive the right to sue RADO and Paris Design Week for damages or losses caused by illegal downloading or unauthorised use by third parties.

RADO and Paris Design Week reserve the right to use the images for the promotion and realisation of this competition and for the site www.radostarprize.fr. Other uses will only be made with the consent of the author of the project.

Responsibility

The decision of the jury will not give rise to any correspondence. The decision of the jury is final and binding. Legal action is excluded.

This competition is organised by Montres Rado SA, Bielstrasse 45, 2543 Lengnau, Switzerland. By participating in the competition, participants declare that they accept the present conditions of participation and the RADO data protection statement, as can be consulted under RADO STAR PRIZE (privacy policy).

RADO STAR PRIZE France cannot be held responsible for lost, incorrectly addressed, late or incorrect mailings for technical or other reasons. RADO accepts no responsibility for damages, losses or disappointments arising from participation or inability to participate in the competition, as well as no liability for damage (to persons or things) caused to third parties by participants during the development of works. RADO assumes no responsibility for loss, late uploading or damage to submitted projects.

Participation is null and void if prohibited by local laws to which participants are subject.

The prize is not transferable and cannot be converted into cash. Winners are responsible for the payment of any taxes or duties to which the prize may be subject.

RADO reserves the right to modify or supplement the competition rules at any time and without notice or to terminate the competition in the event of a computer virus or any other technical problem.

In the event of a serious event, the competition may be suspended at any time without notice, without any compensation being required.
