Jonas Edvard (1982) is an independent designer developing a new experience of design objects through a research and development of raw unprocessed materials. His aim is to create sustainable furniture and materials which can explore the potential of a global green economy. Jonas Edvard’s work is characterized by a profound focus on the potential of an existing material diving into the history and use of the ressource while creating functional products with a simple and honest approach. Jonas Edvard received a Master in product design from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine arts, School of Design in 2013.
Jonas has received numerous prizes and grants and are featured on several exhibitions including the permanent collection of the Danish Design Museum, Trapholt Museum and The National Gallery of Victoria, Australia. In 2014 Jonas Edvard showed Myx lamp as a part of The Danish Craft Collection, and in 2015 The Terroir Projects was shown in Milan During The Salone del Mobile as a part of the award winning Mindcraft15. in 2014 Jonas Edvard Received a Grant from the Danish Art Foundation and won a Green Furniture award for the MYX lamp. in 2012 he was awarded 2nd prize in the Muuto Talent award with the Konkret lamp which was exhibited at Material Experience in Rotterdam and London 2013. Jonas Edvard Lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark.
